Capacity Building Relay Race
This ENPI project brings together seven (7) partners from different sectors and geographical areas, in three (3) EU countries (Italy, Portugal and Greece) and three (3) MED countries (Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan), that join forces in an effort to respond to persistent regional needs in terms of youth unemployment and low level of social cohesion.
CaBuReRA's overall objective is to reduce youth unemployment in the Mediterranean region through youth mobility and professional training in the field of cooperation and project management. The project also aims to reinforce Civil Society Organisations by strengthening the networks and collaboration between the two shores of the Mediterranean, in order to develop efficient synergies to struggle against youth unemployment.
Within the context of the project, the following results will be attained:
- enhanced collaboration among Mediterranean countries through mobility and professional development of 90 young people;
- improved cooperation between civil society organizations and local authorities in the Mediterranean, through exchange of knowledge and competences needed to face common challenges related to youth unemployment and to strength the Mediterranean identity;
- greater networking among young people, local organizations, youth workers, public institution and Educational Institutions in the Mediterranean region, in order to coordinate strategies and activities aimed at facilitating the transition from education to the labour market.
- promotion of active citizenship and intercultural dialogue in the Mediterranean region through the exchange of good practices to reduce youth unemployment.
In total 90 young people will realize a professional mobility within the 6 partners countries: 1) 30 youth workers aged 25-35; 2) 60 unemployed aged 25-35 (with previous studies/experience in international cooperation).

The 2007-2013 ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme is a multilateral Cross-Border Cooperation initiative funded by the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI). The Programme objective is to promote the sustainable and harmonious cooperation process at the Mediterranean Basin level by dealing with the common challenges and enhancing its endogenous potential. It finances cooperation projects as a contribution to the economic, social, environmental and cultural development of the Mediterranean region. The following 14 countries participate in the Programme: Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta, Palestinian Authority, Portugal, Spain, Syria, Tunisia. The Joint Managing Authority (JMA) is the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (Italy). Official Programme languages are Arabic, English and French.
