KMOP - Center for Social Action and Innovation invites you to the Medlit Piloting Workshop for Migrant Women on Monday 10th of June or Friday 14th of June 2019 from 10:00 to 13:00 at the Melissa Network offices (18, Feron Street, Athens).

The event is addressed exclusively to migrant women / refugees / asylum seekers wishing to enhance their media literacy skills.

The training will be in English with simultaneous interpreting in Farsi language. Admission is free of charge.

Through the training, the trainees will be able to manage media and digital media, ie they will be able to:

  • Understand media,
  • Look for information and have a critical eye on the content being recovered,
  • Create messages via digital media and
  • Communicate with other users using a variety of digital (and non-digital) tools and applications (mobile, internet, TV, radio, newspapers).

In addition, the trainees will develop their "social and political skills", which have a clear connection with critical thinking? as well as their "cultural awareness and expression", supported by the ability to appreciate diversity and respect the views and values of others.

The training will also have a positive impact on learning the language of the host country and will support their integration into host societies.
